گورنمنٹ گریجویٹ کالج آف سائنس، وحدت روڈ، لاہور پنجاب کے پہلے درجے کے تعلیمی اداروں میں سے ایک ہے۔ تقریباً 50 سال کی مسلسل کوششوں اور طویل جدوجہد کے بعد ادارے کو یہ مقام حاصل ہوا ہے۔ کالج اپنی موجودہ شکل میں 8 اگست 1973 کو اس وقت کے گورنر پنجاب کے احکامات کی تعمیل میں گورنمنٹ سپیریئر سائنس کالج لاہور اور گورنمنٹ ڈگری کالج وحدت روڈ لاہور کو ضم کرنے کے بعد وجود میں آیا۔ ساتھ ہی وہ عمارت جو گورنمنٹ کے رہنے کے لیے بنائی گئی تھی۔ انٹرمیڈیٹ کالج فار گرلز، گلبرگ، لاہور لیکن استعمال نہ ہونے کے برابر رہا، اسے بھی کالج کی عمارت سے منسلک کر دیا گیا اور اس کا نام "گورنمنٹ کالج آف سائنس، وحدت روڈ، لاہور" رکھا گیا۔ اس طرح گورنمنٹ گریجویٹ کالج آف سائنس ان تینوں اداروں کے امتزاج سے ابھرا اور معروف ماہر تعلیم پروفیسر ایم اے سعید اس کے پہلے پرنسپل مقرر ہوئے۔ نئے کالج نے نئے جوش، عزائم اور اہداف کے ساتھ کام کرنا شروع کیا۔ پوسٹ گریجویٹ تدریس کا آغاز فزکس (1970) میں ہوا۔ کیمسٹری (1974)، معاشیات، ریاضی (1994) اور زولوجی (2005)..

With lush green sitting places between the buildings, offers a favorable and conducive academic environment that is missing in many other educational institutes. Seven academic blocks consisting of around hundred classrooms that can provide enough teaching space for around 6000 students is our strength, which cannot be competed by many public sector colleges as well as private sector institutes. Wahdat Road is connecting the two main lines of the modem mass transport system of Lahore that is Metro Bus Service and Orange line train service.
